BANGKOK, Thailand – Nissan Thailand hosted a two-day, overnight 'camping' media experience to Phetchaburi province to show how the new Terra's adaptability combines the latest digital entertainment and camping comfort.

The concept was to show how Terra can deliver people to every destination they could dream of, safely and without limitations. The two-day journey navigated over 499 kilometers and took the media to remote camping destinations that are had to reach but feature some of the most stunning scenery in Thailand. Including astonishing views, incredible sunsets, the natural beauty and charm of Thailand's verdant national park and mountains.

The Phetchaburi adventure road trip was created to be suited for 'Friend Road Trips,' starting from Mellow Garden Restaurant & Bakery in Bangkok to follow a pre-loaded route in the navigation system, stopping along the way to explore various locations and take on challenging dirt-road experiences.

On day one, the new Terra safely took them to Kaeng Krachan National Park with side trips and excursions to Sam Sue Meaw (dirt-track driving).

The first stop was to visit Laem Salt Barn, where the group bought salt and soil minerals weighing 300 kilograms in total and loaded the heavy cargo using the auto liftgate, which conveniently opens and closes automatically when placing a foot in the center of the bumper. Later the salt was used to create elephant salt licks and were donated to the National Park together with a blower that helps to prevent wildfire.

Next leg put the new Terra's Terra 2.3-liter twin-turbo YS23DDTT diesel engine to the test. It was up for the challenge, delivering 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque for excellent acceleration and the power to safely deliver the group to Sam Sue Meaw for an off-road excursion.

Then finally into the heart of Kaeng Krachan National Park where Terra's upgraded multi-functional D-shape steering wheel and multi-link (5-link) rear suspension provided excellent balance while turning up steep winding roads that can be found in that area.

Driving across the bumpy roads, the spacious new interior cabin provided good passenger comfort because of the Terra's new seat cushions and back shapes – especially helpful on off-road and long trips. Helping make the trip more dynamic is that the space between the passenger compartment and rear luggage is fully adjustable, that allows the second and third rows to be reconfigured into a variety of styles. This mean camping gear and luggage fit easily, and later the ability to flatten the back seats to create an interior fold out bed for two that turns camping into 'camping'.

In the evening, the group set up camp at Kaeng Krachan National Park, about 60km from Hua Hin. Here they were introduced to the joys of 'camping' as a way for friends to authentically experience the most awe-inspiring destinations around Thailand. It also let everyone experience first-hand how the versatile new Terra offers much more than a nice tent when camping.

The roof top racks of the New Nissan Terra were transformed into seating platforms, so participants could eat and get an elevated view of the scenery. Then the comfort of camping came with a special tent set-up that encloses the premium SUV, giving warmth, safety and relaxation to campers.

Dinner became a gourmet experience when Chef Tukta from The Next Iron Chef fame arrived to guide media and friends through a fun and interactive cooking session using a mobile kitchen towed behind the Terra. This allowed a fun and unique evening together, while bonding over good food and good friends in a unique natural setting.

On day two, the group setup a coffee camp together in the morning to take in the beautiful sunrise, and then set out to have lunch at Pae Yuan Restaurant. This also included another small coffee break at Salt Lake De Maeklong before heading back to Bangkok. Guiding the groups easily on the trip to each stop was that each Nissan Terra has full internet support, including Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It also allowed everyone to post their priceless moments with friends on social media in real time during the trip.

They also enjoyed fast wireless charging, Google maps, and music streaming services in addition to world-class digital entertainment via Smart TV Stick so they could watch Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ or enjoy playing video games with friends on the 11-inch monitor supported by a best-in-class surround sound system from Bose Premium Audio. Its pristine sound quality is enhanced by the fact that the new Terra is the only SUV in its class equipped with front and side acoustic glass, reducing outside noise while delivering the highest quality sound on any journey.

Isao Sekiguchi, President of Nissan Thailand, said, "The new Nissan Terra is proudly made in Thailand and reinforces the country's position as the ASEAN manufacturing hub for the brand. Since launch, it has received very positive customer feedback about its versatility and upgrades. To truly prove this to media, we created this camping excursion, even using the car to camp inside.

"It's positioned as a premium SUV that can be easily customized for any activity. The design is new inside and out and creates a premium product that is both versatile and completely functional, whether it is for in city driving or escaping on upcountry trips," he added.

Enjoying all of life's activities whether it's weekend road trip, dirt-road experience, sight-seeing, or a restful evening 'camping' with friends, the new Nissan Terra reaches every destination safely without limitations.
