BANGKOK, Thailand – Nissan Thailand showed how the new Nissan Terra, with its combination of best-in-class entertainment, safety features and luxury comfort, can make every family road trip unforgettable by taking media and their families on a two-day nature adventure around Khao Yai National Park.
The theme for the Khao Yai exploration was 'Family Road Trip' with a tour covering a total of 484 kilometers. The new Nissan Terra helped families get a complete nature experience in Thailand's first national park, with the route featuring distinct driving experiences, like off-road, highway and dirt-road, so they can easily access the best family friendly charms in Nakorn Ratchasima province. As the third largest park in the country, it offers plenty of opportunities for the family to enjoy nature. It is home to a vast array of flora and fauna, with the new Terra stopping along the way to let everyone soak up the natural beauty of the park's numerous waterfalls and rivers, mountains, and wildlife.

From Bangkok, the group set off for the two-hour drive to Khao Yai. While a long car ride can seem like the most boring part of holiday, Terra made it a highlight thanks to the family-friendly entertainment provided by Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging, Music streaming services and more all supported by the best-in-class surround sound system from Bose Premium Audio.
Participants were prepped on predetermined routes using the navigation system that would allow them to freely explore the various attractions and take them on dirt-road experiences. To keep everyone entertained, especially young kids, the new Nissan Terra was also prepped with Smart TV Stick so they could watch Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ or play games on the 11-inch monitor.
One of the stops on day one was The Birder's Lodge Famers Market, a family-friendly weekend market that features European cottage style architecture, making it a popular selfie backdrop. Selling organic, locally grown vegetables, fruits, and plants, with most vendors hailing from local villages. Fortunately, the New Terra provided enough space for all the shopping, with the Auto Lift Gate, an electronic tailgate with a convenient foot sensor made loading a breeze.
The trip up Khao Pang Ma is a unique destination and everyone was up for the adventure as it is considered the best place in Thailand to easily spot Gaurs. Also known as the Indian bison because of its large shoulders and small head, Gaurs are largely nocturnal and the tallest species of wild cattle in the world. The new Nissan Terra could safely summit Khao Pang Ma with ease as its 2.3-liter twin-turbo YS23DDTT delivered 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Its multi-functional D-shape steering wheel and multi-link (5-link) rear suspension also provided added stability and balance on the mountain roads leading into Khao Yai or when taking the vehicle off-road.
A family trip should be filled be many interesting stops, so the group took a quick coffee break at BUCOLIC Khaoyai. This beautifully decorated garden cafe offers panoramic mountain views in addition to a mini-zoo and skate bowl, both proving a hit for families and children alike.
Keeping the family safe over challenging terrain is never a worry with Nissan 360° Safety Shield. This suite of active safety technologies surrounds the car and acts to monitor and keep families safe, by preventing collisions, alerting the driver of any dangers, and reducing the severity of unexpected events as just some of the benefits.
The Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (IFCW) technology detects movement up to two vehicles ahead, raising an alarm when the car in front suddenly brakes and works in conjunction with the Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) technology that automatically brakes before a collision. While the Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) has laser sensors that detect an approaching vehicle from any side to make reversing easy and simple, great in both city and off-road excursions.
The peace and quiet of the Khao Yai countryside was preserved by the front and side acoustic glass. The new Terra is the only premium SUV with this feature that reduces outside noise. The Theater-style rear seating provides clear vision for all occupants and was adjusted multiple times, through an exceptional design that allows the second and third rows to be reconfigured into a variety of styles, to accommodate shopping bags and camping equipment. The Auto Tumble Seats that automatically fold by pressing a one-touch ‘Fold and Tumble' remote switch on the center console, so third row passengers can enter easily. The spacious interior cabin has been completely upgraded and curated with new seat cushions and back shapes to provide maximum comfort and luxury for media and families for the duration of the journey to Khao Yai.
When it came time to turn in for the night the group stayed at Lala Mukha Tented Resort Khao Yai, a chic tented camp that blends contemporary architecture with African elements, set within a lush tropical landscape just outside the park. The next morning everyone woke up early in the morning to enjoy a wonderful breakfast at the resort together before a leisurely drive back to Bangkok in the afternoon.
The Khao Yai nature adventure reminded everyone to enjoy life to the fullest, whether a weekend road trip, off road adventure, sight-seeing around town or cool night drives, and spend quality time with your family while enjoying state-of-the-art entertainment in the safety and comfort of the new Nissan Terra.
