BANGKOK, Thailand – For the fifth and final media road trip, Nissan Thailand took journalists on the ultimate extreme road trip to Kanchanaburi to demonstrate how the new Nissan Terra with its best-in-class entertainment, safety features, and premium comfort has the right stuff to take on adventurous destinations without limitations.

The theme for the two-day, one-night trip around Kanchanaburi was 'Authentic Adventure'. From Bangkok, the group set off from Marriott Sathorn Vista for the 711 kilometer journey, the longest route out of all the test drives. The first day covered a total of 392 kilometers that took the group from Bangkok to Si Sawat district in Kanchanaburi. The new Nissan Terra made it a highlight thanks to the family-friendly entertainment provided by Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging, music streaming services, and more, all supported by the best-in-class surround sound system from Bose Premium Audio.

Before leaving the city, it is noticeable that the cabin was calm and quiet, thanks to the new Terra's front and side acoustic glass, as it is the only premium SUV with this feature that reduces outside noise. The spacious interior cabin has been redesigned with new seat cushions and back shapes that provided maximum comfort for the duration of the journey to Kanchanaburi. The theater-style rear seating provides comfort to all occupants and was put to good use, as it can be adjusted multiple times, which allows the second and third rows to be folded flat or reconfigured into a variety of styles, to accommodate camping equipment and other soft adventure gear.

After breakfast in Ratchaburi, the group departed for a ferryboat crossing heading to Sri Sawat District in Kanchanaburi. All the Terra vehicles were loaded onto rafts for the 15-minute river crossing. After, the group stopped for lunch at Pinprai Home before heading to Ban Hin Laem, passing through the Noen Sawan Viewpoint by traversing dirt road for over 25 kilometers.

From Ban Hin Laem, they drove into the west side of the Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary. Rich in biodiversity, the Sanctuary is home to over 120 species of mammals, 400 birds, 96 reptiles, 43 amphibians, and 113 species of freshwater fish. The route from Sane Phong to Koh Sadeng was filled with beautiful panoramic views of nature and the surrounding mountains. Along the way, the off-road surface changed multiple times from dirt, gravel, or large stones testing the new Terra's 2.3-liter twin-turbo engine that gives 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Even though the trip got very rough in parts with the SUV swaying back and forth, its multi-functional D-shape steering wheel and multi-link (5-link) rear suspension provided added stability, safety, and traction on the rough roads leading into the Sanctuary.

While forging streams or traversing rock-strewn tracks, the Terra's Shift-on-the-fly 4WD technology allowed drivers to easily change from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive mode. The Electronic Locking Rear Differential also helped provide full engine torque to both rear wheels when climbing or driving over slippery surfaces, helping boost traction to keep the Terra moving forward. Plus, the Intelligent Around View Monitor (IAVM) works automatically in 4LO mode under 10 km/h to help the driver see potential obstacles that might be hard to see along the way, while the Off-Road Meter shows off-road performances displayed in 3D on a clearly positioned 7-inch TFT screen, including longitudinal and lateral inclination performance while driving off-road, 4WD drive power, tire pressure, and fuel consumption.

After the long day, everyone looked forward to setting up camp at the Sustainable Community Forest, Sanegpong in Kanchanaburi, and enjoying dinner next to a stream that ran through the campsite. After the meal, the group pitched in to help set tents, decorate the Nissan Terra's roof racks, and relax to take in the beautiful natural surroundings. Flat-folding seats in the new Nissan Terra created a comfortable bed that allowed those on the trip to enjoy a cozy night of sleep.

Day two saw the group up before first light preparing breakfast before heading off to Koh Saderng Village to donate sustainable farming equipment, a 15 kilometer off-road adventure that took the new Nissan Terra across streams and rivers no less than 15 times.

Isao Sekiguchi, President of Nissan Thailand, said, "The Kanchanaburi test drive gave everyone a real taste of 'Authentic Adventure', as the province is popular with both soft adventure and nature lovers alike. The new Terra took everyone safely off the beaten track without limitations, using its new design that combines the highest levels of safety, performance, and entertainment. It is easily customized to suit any lifestyle activity whether it is camping or taking the premium SUV off-road. Proudly made in Thailand, the new Terra reinforces Nissan's position as the ASEAN manufacturing hub for the model."

On this trip to Kanchanaburi, the new Nissan Terra showed its versatility and how it can be modified to enjoy a real 'Authentic Adventure' in Thailand. It safely takes all to every destination without limitations, whether it's authentic camping experiences, long road trips, off-road adventures, sightseeing, or a restful evening at the camping site with friends while enjoying the best in comfort, safety, and entertainment.
