BANGKOK, Thailand – Nissan Thailand hosted a two-day, one-night off-road experience for media in Ratchaburi to display the versatility of the new Nissan Terra and its enticing combination best-in-class safety, entertainment, and luxury that takes customers to every destination safely, without limitations.

The two-day journey covered a total of 433 kilometers (about the length of New York State) and offered diverse driving experiences in a destination that suits road trip and travel trends for Thai consumers. The Ratchaburi adventure was created to be the perfect getaway for travelling with 'Groups of Friends,' as camping and weekend retreats gain more popularity, and showing how Terra can cater to every need.

For ease and connectivity on the trip Terra provided all participants with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to access wireless charging, Google maps, music streaming services, and a Digital Roadbook of the special route. This offered both convenience for working remotely, and best entertainment while travelling with their road trip buddies.

A best-in-class surround sound system from Bose Premium Audio was put to good use, and rear passengers also enjoyed a wide world of online entertainment via a 11-inch screen (with HDMI or Smart TV stick connectivity). The new Terra is the only SUV in its class equipped with front and side acoustic glass, reducing outside noise while delivering the highest quality sound on any journey.

The event started out from the popular Mellow Garden Restaurant & Bakery, known as a great road trip rest stop where friends can enjoy European cuisine and its warm, natural setting. Along the way to Ratchaburi, the journey featured multiple off-road experiences and incredible views along the Myanmar border with its breathtaking mountain scenery, along with a stop at the recently discovered 'Grand Canyon Ratchaburi,' a tourist site that resembles the moon with a hidden lagoon in its center. Terra's upgraded multi-functional D-shape steering wheel and multi-link (5-link) rear suspension, was perfect to provide excellent balance while going through various road conditions, turning or taking the vehicle off road.

The new Nissan Terra 2.3-liter twin-turbo YS23DDTT diesel engine delivers 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, for excellent acceleration and power that came in handy when pulling heavy loads. With each Terra holding individual luggage for three to five travelers, owners can be confident in Terra's storage capacity that easily holds camping or outdoor equipment too.

A spacious interior cabin, that has been completed upgraded and curated, features new seat cushions and back shapes that ensure the comfort of all participants for the duration of the journey. Space between the passenger compartment and rear luggage area is fully adjustable through an exceptional design that allows the second and third rows to be reconfigured into a variety of styles. This includes a cozy interior camp bed with chic rooftop tent that adds a touch of glamour and comfort to the 'friend-trip' experience.

In the evening, the group set up camp at the stunning 'The Camping Field' viewpoint. With the Terra able to even help create a tasty outdoor dinner in a unique natural setting, using a mobile kitchen towed behind the SUV.

On day two, the group set out early in the morning on a drive to Huay Kok Moo viewpoint where the Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC) via the 4WD-DIFF lock system helped maintain control and prevent the car from slipping on steep climbs or decent by using the engine to slow down without applying the brakes. When the 4WD system is activated, the Intelligent Around View Monitor (IAVM) will activate, giving you a clear view of the surrounding terrain and the off-road meter displays driving information including tilt angle while driving off-road. The Auto Lift Gate, an electronic tailgate with foot sensor, helped the group quickly and easily set up 'Coffee Camp' for a break from the long drive and take in the beautiful landscape.

"The new Nissan Terra has been hugely updated based on in-depth research of modern Thai people's needs. Nissan's goal is to provide the highest level of safety and great entertainment to make every trip with friends and family, fun and stress-free. This is particularly important as road trips gain more popularity due to COVID-19, but people still want new escapes to enjoy and explore," said Isao Sekiguchi, President of Nissan Thailand, adding that the new Nissan Terra is proudly made in Thailand and reinforces the country's position as the ASEAN manufacturing hub for the brand.

"Terra is premium SUV that can be easily customized for any activity. The design is new inside and out and creates a premium product that is both versatile and completely functional, whether it be in for in city driving or escaping for exciting upcountry trips," he added.

The Nissan Terra can be modified to suit the needs of modern Thai lifestyles inclusive of best-in-class comfort and entertainment. The SUV lets customers enjoy a variety of activities whether it be a long road trip, off-road experience, or a restful evening at campsites with a special 'Group of Friends'.
