Exploring Thailand’s savanna and wind turbine field with Nissan Terra Sport

There is no better time to enjoy nature than now because the forests are once again lush and green after the rains, the air is fresh, and the temperature is not too high.  Nissan Terra Sport recently organized a short 2-day-1-night trip for media friends, providing them with an opportunity to explore the best of the nature in Thung Salaeng Luang and Khao Kho wind turbine field, Phetchabun province.

Phetchabun is only about 400 kilometers from Bangkok. A few hours' drive, with a couple of comfort stops, a lunch break and a stop at a stylish coffee shop en route make it ideal for a nice weekend trip. The route has a good mix of straight highways and mountainous roads, providing media friends with opportunities to speed up, take curves, drive uphill and downhill, change driving mode between 2 and 4-wheel drive, as well as try out all features and test the premium family SUV's power generated by the twin turbo engine. They can do all of this while resting assured of full protection by the 360-degree Safety Shield.

The roomy passenger cabin and the theatre seats in the second and third rows are not only comfortable but provide good vision for all passengers. Entering the third row is easy by pressing a button on the central console; the second-row seat will be automatically folded, making way for passengers to get into the third row easily.  The quiet passenger cabin is made possible by the special materials that effectively prevent noise from outside, allowing passengers to fully enjoy the superior sound quality of the BOSE audio system with 8 speakers or watch favorite movies on the 11-inch screen at the back.

Our media friends loved the enhanced look given by the sporty black accessories, such as the black front grille, front and back bumpers, side mirrors, overfenders, side steps, and more, as well as the four Quad LED headlamps that give better vision and are 34% brighter for safe driving at night.

Thung Salaeng Luang is a beautiful national park that spans two provinces – Phetchabun and Phitsanulok. The best time to visit is from October to January when the national park is at its most beautiful with lush green trees. In the morning, mountains and the treetops are hidden in a sea of mist, rendering the park even more charming

Apart from different types of forests – pine forest, rainforest, evergreen forest and mixed forest – Thung Salaeng Luang is famous for its savanna, the vast grassland with widely spaced trees. Visitors can enjoy cycling, walking, and sometimes, catching sight of small wildlife including squirrels, rabbits, deer, birds, and butterflies.

Another group of media friends took a different route to see the wind turbine field in Khao Kho. This field shows off a row of white wind turbines that are as high as 100 meters and 60-meters wide.  The sight of these giant wind turbines against the bright blue sky is really amazing. If you come to this area in late October and November, strawberries from nearby farms will be available for sale too.

The media who came on this trip stayed at a resort nearby. But if you want to enjoy nature closely, you can go camping in the area provided so that you take in the millions of stars at night and wake up early to see the first light at dawn.

For those interested in history and archeology, a visit to the Ancient Town of Si Thep, recently recognized by UNESCO as the latest world heritage site, is a must. Here you can learn first-hand the glory of ancient times and how people lived here over a thousand years ago.

This short 2-day-1-night trip to Phetchabun is, perhaps, one of the most relaxing journeys that brings everyone close to nature. Our media friends loved it, and we hope you will too.
