BANGKOK, Thailand – Over 100 Thai media recently drove the all-new Nissan Almera more than 250 kilometres around Thailand's picturesque southern provinces. On a course designed to facilitate a variety of driving conditions, and prove the safety and performance of the Nissan Almera with its new 1.0-liter turbo engine and best-in-class suite of advanced safety and Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies.

The 'Challenge All Beliefs' media road test traversed the diverse terrain of three National Parks around Phuket and Phang Nga provinces, and the sun-kissed Andaman coast. To showcase the strong performance of the intelligent urban sedan's bold new and lighter 1.0-liter turbo engine, chic and spacious design and advanced technologies.

The test drive route was designed to showcase the all-new Nissan Almera's outstanding performance in both city conditions and long-distance driving. Journalists were able to interact with the new Almera's many safety features and other smart technologies like best-in-class safety technologies from Nissan Intelligent Mobility, including Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. With four cameras on the front, rear and side of the vehicle, the all-new Nissan Almera offers Intelligent Around View Monitor and Moving Object Detection. These features bring more safety and enhanced comfort for all vehicle occupants.

Driving between Phuket and Phang Nga provinces, the drive route headed north to Khao Lak. It is considered one of Thailand's most pristine resort destinations and proved an ideal testing ground for the urban all-new Nissan Almera. The route allowed media to travel on both two-lane highways and single-lane hilly rural roads, to see first-hand the impact of the new and lighter 1.0-liter HRA0 turbo engine, which delivered greater power and better fuel efficiency, with a maximum power output of 100 PS, the torque of 152 Nm and fuel consumption of 23.3 kilometers per liter. This results in better acceleration, power output and increases driver confidence.

The all-new Nissan Almera's interior has also been totally redesigned to accommodate a new instrument panel, infotainment screen, steering wheel and seats. The stylish passenger cabin features high-quality design and exemplary craftsmanship, and retains its reputation for best-in-class roominess with head and legroom to spare.
